Course entry
No prerequisites required. However, participants must have the physical capacity to perform 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor and access to a computer, smartphone, or tablet for the online component.

Outcome
Participants will receive a Statement of Attainment for HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, valid for 12 months. The course covers adult and infant CPR, use of an AED, recovery position techniques, and responding to emergency scenarios.
Delivery
Workplace Training
This course is suitable for workplace first aiders and those required to maintain current CPR qualifications for professional roles, such as healthcare, childcare, aged care, or fitness.
Distance Training
The course includes an online study component, allowing participants to complete theoretical training from home before attending the practical face-to-face session.
Online Training
Students will complete an online pre-course module, which covers theoretical knowledge related to CPR, AED use, and the DRSABCD action plan. Participants must have access to the internet and a suitable device for the online portion of the course.

Practical Placement
The practical component requires participants to attend a 45-minute in-class session, where they will perform CPR on adult and infant manikins, use an AED, and practice the recovery position. This session provides critical hands-on experience.
